Well, today is my birthday. I am 61 years old. I don't mind telling my age because what can I do about it anyway. Lots of people hide their age or "lie" about it...but hey...when I think about my life I don't mind telling you I worked hard to get this old and be partly normal. Anyway...last night Sally started acting oddly and this morning she was obviously sick with something. She was vomiting and displaying symptoms of being in pain. What should I do? I was in Bowie and I don't know any vets there...and I had to go where I could trust their diagnosis or decisions. So I hurried up and got all my chores done at the Bowie trailer, loaded up the car, grabbed the dogs and went flying to Granbury as fast as I could. When we got there (1 hour and 45 minutes later - thank goodness it was Sat. and there wasn't much traffic) we discovered she had a high fever. So, the Dr. ran some tests and it was mostly inclusive....but we did decided that whether I went back to Bowie or came to the Ranch, it was too far for us to have to come back if she got worse during the night. So...sadly, I left Sally at the Vet. Hospital. By the end of the day they had her fever under control and she was doing better. I am hoping and praying she will get to come home tomorrow.
Hang in there Sally!-----------------------------------------------------
UPDATE!
By Sunday afternoon, Sally was greatly improved. They had gotten her fever down Saturday night before closing and she got to come home. In fact, James was going to go right thru Granbury on his way to spend a few days here at the ranch, so he stopped and picked her up and brought her to me. Welcome Home Sally.
